What we wish for
We want to help reconnect Quebecers with the richness of Quebec's terroir through the symbol of the goose. More than just a web-footed bird, the goose is a native bird of our region and a symbol of Canadian heritage. By promoting our dynamic territory, we invite you to discover the essence of Quebec's land through its animals and what it has to offer to feed us.
Just as the goose flourishes when allowed to roam free, we believe that by extending this flourishing to every being, ensuring that true quality emerges from the freedom and well-being we offer. Join us on this adventure at Au Gîte des Oies, where simplicity, love and a sense of belonging make every visit memorable.
Why goose the goose?
This is not just a bird; it is a living testament to the principles we hold dear. Through the journey of the two geese who have found their forever home on our farm, we have discovered a deep connection with these web-footed creatures. They symbolize the sense of belonging, acceptance, and thriving harmony that we strive to cultivate in all aspects of our farm life.
By creating authentic, premium products responsibly and in harmony with nature, the goose becomes our North Star. Its presence resonates with our commitment to coexistence and respect for the natural order, weaving a complex narrative of interconnected harmony.
So when you enter Au Gîte des Oies, know that the goose is not just a resident. She is a storyteller, a symbol and a living embodiment of our dedication to creating a sustainable and harmonious world for generations to come.
The goose, in its majestic flight and graceful existence, propels our farm narrative into uncharted territories, inspiring us all to see the world through the lens of hope, innovation and conscious agriculture.

We make goose, but that's not all!
In addition to goose, we raise Highland beef, lamb, guinea fowl, chicken, and rabbit on our pastures.
Our big family
The large Au Gîte des Oies family includes 14 breeds of geese, all different from each other, a small herd of dairy goats, Léo - the goose guardian dog - a duo of swans, ducks, Bouboule the cat, and a mix of different birds and affectionately called the party mix . We present a few of them below!

Here, nothing is lost. Everything changes.
Each goose is respected from head to toe, and we revalorize 100% of our birds, with no compromise on waste.
It is with this in mind that our hand creams and soaps made from goose fat were born. An ancestral ingredient, long forgotten, which we are bringing back into fashion for its exceptional virtues.
Naturally moisturizing, healing and anti-inflammatory, goose fat protects the skin, soothes hands put to the test by cold, wind and daily life, and leaves a lasting feeling of comfort.
The rhythm of our farm
Our production cycle follows the natural cycle of the goose. At Gite des Oies, we have our own breeding stock and are among the few goose producers who do everything from the egg to marketing.

FEBRUARY
Start of laying
Our geese remain in total freedom even during the breeding and laying period. We do not force anything at all. We let nature take care of everything.
We ensure their greatest comfort by keeping their aviary clean and cozy.

March
Incubation
A crucial step in our production which makes us unique in the field throughout the world.
All year round we take care of our geese and they reward us at this stage with many beautiful fertile eggs.

April
First hatching
At this stage, we begin to establish a unique relationship filled with love with the youngest members of our large family.
We give them lots of love and attention. We even play music to lull them to sleep and give them strength.

June
The nursery is overflowing
The vast majority of the year's babies have been born. Our nursery has become very energetic. The goslings are twittering and active all day long, discovering the world around them.
Soon they will be able to go out to pasture and spend the summer enjoying the sun.

July
Our pastures are full
When grazing, the geese are free to enter and exit the aviary as they please.
During this period, we chose to have a longer breeding period to allow them to grow at their own pace.
They are neither intensively fattened nor force-fed.

October
The big departure
As a producer and animal lover, this is the most heartbreaking time of the year.
Why do we do this? Because we want to offer people the opportunity to choose to consume meat that matches their values, produced responsibly and in harmony with nature.
This is our contribution to the agriculture of tomorrow, for a better world.
